Austin, TX. February 10th, 2012: Occupy Austin’s Welcome Wagon working group is hosting a potluck picnic on Sunday, February 12, 2012. The picnic will begin at 11AM at the Pecan Grove Picnic Area in Zilker Park. We should be identified by tents and happy, welcoming people. All are invited to attend.
Please bring friends, food, discussion ideas, games, and art supplies so we can write love notes to those who have supported our cause. The intention of this potluck is to introduce the existing Occupy Austin members to any new members who might be interested in joining us in fighting for the rights of the 99%. This will be a fun, family-friendly way to share a little Occupy Austin love with the community.
Mother of two boys, and picnic organizer, Lainie Duro states, “The members of Occupy Austin are some of the hardest working people I have ever known. They are intelligent, compassionate, focused, and a whole lot of fun. This picnic presents an opportunity for us to enjoy a day in the park with anyone who is curious about the movement, and to ensure that all of the concerns of the 99% are represented as we move forward. We want to work with you to create a better world.”
