Occupy Austin Demands Women’s Shelter, Defends Against Police Abuse
Please join us on our Long March Home. We will be silently marching through the streets of Austin, demanding a women’s shelter, settling in and rallying at various institutions that impact people’s existence on the street. We will hear the stories of peoples experiences, homeless in Austin, through Open Mic Checks.
With 24 empty homes for each homeless American and a severe shortage of beds for homeless women, we demand that the city of Austin house its homeless.
March with us in silence with a sign as your voice. We will stop frequently to rally and rest. Bring your story for Open Mic Checks
We are also answering the call to the Occupy Movement to defend Bernard “Chicago Man” Garcia against abuse by the Austin Police Department.
We demand our human rights!
